Framing recommendations

Works on paper:

Many of my 9 x 12” artworks on paper come with a 12 x 16” white mat. Please check if yours does. If not you can purchase a mat here.

This 12 x 16” mat easily fits in the following frames from Michaels:

For 9 x 12” artworks on paper there is also this option:

If your artwork has watercolor in it then I STRONGLY advise you on purchasing UV protective glass to prevent it from fading. If you don't buy this your painting will probably be OK for a while as long as you keep it out of direct sunlight, but light has a way of creeping in over time and I’ve seen works fade quickly when in the sun.

  • Frame Destination sells UV replacement glass for frames at an affordable price. You will have to choose the size from the drop-down menu, again the outside size of the mat is 12x16".

This article explains why you need a mat for most paper artworks to allow air to breathe in between the medium and the glass. It is possible to forego the mat in certain situations, please ask me first before framing.
